1st edition Street Packing 2019
From July 25 to August 30, the Palais Brongniart displays a gigantic temporary piece on its main façade: in collaboration with the City of Paris and the École Professionnelle Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques de la Ville de Paris (EPSAA), the pillars of the former Paris Stock Exchange Chamber are redecorated in a street-art style to further highlight this iconic Parisian monument in the present era. In total, fourteen columns on the west façade are involved in this work, which is ten meters high and thirty-five meters long. The partnership with EPSAA is part of this innovative approach. The winning project was chosen from nineteen second year graduate student projects leading to the state-recognized professional certification as "Artistic Director in Visual and Multimedia Communication".
This monumental "trompe-l’œil" revisits the mechanism of the "Engrenages" in order to illustrate the movement of the stock market and its activities. Especially since with the virtual reality application for smartphones, Artivive, visitors will be able to see the work come alive right in front of their eyes.
This major initiative, which is inspired by the past and present history of a building in constant evolution to best reflect its identity, also allows Parisians to reclaim the Palais Brongniart and rediscover this monument that has been part of the capital's urban landscape since 1826.
Today, the former Paris Stock Exchange Chamber is one of the leading congress and event centers in Paris, with a philosophy of action based on economic, social and solidarity innovation. A project led by GL events, one of the international leaders in the event industry. This monument aims to welcome all new forms of innovation and artistic expression, and a constant desire to firmly anchor this historic site in modernity.
Palais Brongniart, Innovation as DNA.
